800 D3 - A celebration of 50 years of excellence
The flagship model in the 800 Series Diamond range is more than a speaker. It’s the culmination of half a century of acoustic research and engineering, and the pinnacle of audio performance, offering unmatched levels of clarity and realism.
Sound and vision
When John Bowers founded his company in 1966, he dreamed of manufacturing the perfect loudspeaker. We’ve been pursuing his vision ever since, and now, 50 years later, we’ve taken our biggest and boldest leap forward yet in the shape of the 800 D3.
Radical reinvention
The 800 D3 is the outcome of the most ambitious research and development project we have yet undertaken. With 868 changes from the model it replaces, the 800 D3 isn’t an evolution. It’s a revolution.
A pioneering legacy
The original 801 changed the game for the audio industry in 1979. And now we've done it again. The 800 D3 pushes the boundaries further then ever before, and sets a whole new standard for performance.
Where music begins
Every day, musicians and sound engineers depend on 800 Series Diamond speakers to monitor music, confident that the sound in the control room will be faithful to the performance in the studio.
Diamond Dome Tweeters
Incredibly light, yet unbelievably rigid, Diamond is the ultimate tweeter material. Delivering the most revealing, natural treble you will ever hear.
Turbine Head
The Turbine head is the ideal shape for sound dispersion, while its internally ribbed, aluminium construction ensures that it is acoustically inert.
Continuum cone
The Continuum cone delivers pristine midrange performance by effectively negating the break-up behaviour that can adversely effect this all-important part of the spectrum.
Aerofoil cone
The Aerofoil cone’s variable thickness provides added strength where it is needed to maintain its pistonic shape, delivering rock solid bass.
